She is constantly in pursuit of her own education and has had the opportunity to learn from some of the most renowned teachers in the world.  Most recently:

  • Balanced Body’s Passing the Torch program with her mentor teacher, Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle of The Pilates Center of Austin, in 2013.

  • Graduate of The Post Graduate Kathy Grant Heritage Program with Cara Reeser in January 2017. 

  • Graduate of The Pilates Center of Boulder’s Masters Program under the guidance of Amy Taylor Alpers and Rachel Taylor Segal, May 2017.

  • Continued study in the Movement Science Made Simple Courses led by Cara Reeser and Physical Therapist Jeremy Laverdue.

  • Completion of Pilates for Neurological Conditions with Mariska Breland, which includes MS, Parkinson's and Stroke. 

Laurel is passionate about Pilates and Yoga and brings her energy, spunk, and humor to her teaching. She believes that Pilates is for everyone and aims for her students to leave with physical and mental freedom and zest to move through life.

Having earned a BFA in Musical Theater from Webster Conservatory, dance and movement study has always been an integral part of her life. Laurel began her Pilates certification working with an instructor of The Pilates Studio of New York and completed with The Frog Temple, Inc an affiliate of The Pilates Center of Boulder, CO.


Laurel taught throughout the Chicago area since 1999, working with students of all ages and walks of life. In Chicago, Laurel headed the Pilates Program & Studio at Lakeshore Athletic Clubs Lincoln Park (now Lakeshore Sports and Fitness), as well as having been an Assistant Director of Training at fromthecenter Pilates Studios instructing future teachers in the Pilates method.  In the fall of 2012, Laurel moved to Newport Beach, CA, where she currently resides and teaches throughout the Orange County area.
